If you read the map of Indonesia, Java island located between Bali island to the east and Sumatra Island to the west, between Christmas Island to the south and Borneo to the north. Java Indonesia is 13th largest island of the world and most populous island in the world. Geographical condition of java is almost entirely of volcanic origin; it contains 38 mountains, most of them are active volcanoes. The Java highest volcano is Mount Mahameru or Semeru (3,676 m). The most active java indonesia volcano (also in Indonesia) also located in this island, namely Mount Merapi (2,968 m).

The Java map area is about 139,000 km2. The island’s longest river namely Bengawan Solo (600 km). Bengawan Solo river rises from the Lawu volcano (central Java), then flows to Java Sea around Surabaya city, East Java.

The Temperatures of Parahyangan highland near Bogor, West Java average 22°C to 29°C and humidity about 75% throughout the year. The northern area near coastal are hotter (34°C). The south area is cooler than the north, and highland areas are cooler again. The wettest months in Java are January and February. The wet season itself begins at October until April.

East Java is more dry than West Java. The mountainous regions in west java receive much higher rainfall. The Bogor area of West Java receive over 4,000 mm annually, while the north coast of East Java receives 900 mm annually.

The strategic geographic position of west java has many advantages for this regional, especially from transportation and communication point of view. The north part of West Java is flat land area, while hilly area with a few shores in the south and mountainous area in the central part.

East Java has a wet tropical climate. Compared with the western region of Java, East Java in general have less rainfall. The average rainfall is 1900 mm annually, with the rainy season for 100 days. The average temperature ranges between 21-34 ° C. Temperatures in the mountainous areas such lower, and even in Ranu Pani (slopes of Mount Semeru), temperatures can reach minus 4 ° C, which caused a soft snow fall.
